Whether you want to build job‑ready skills, learn to cook nutritious meals, or connect with your community, our education programs are here to support you.
From Kitchen to Career
Culinary Training for Newcomers
Our Culinary Training for Newcomers program is designed to help newcomers to Canada learn new culinary skills, gain employment readiness training, and acclimate to their new life in Canada and enter the Canadian job market. Offered out of our Community Teaching Kitchen in Brampton, we offer this free multi-week course to newcomers living throughout the GTA who have lived in Canada five years or less.
Why Join?
- Gaining the skills needed to work in the culinary industry
- Ability to learn in a fast-paced kitchen environment
- Support with resumes and skills needed for job search
Who Can Join?
- Adults who are newcomers to Canada (five years or less)
- All immigration statuses welcome (e.g., refugee claimants, international students), but preference will be given to permanent residents and convention refugees.
- Must have a Canadian Language Benchmark (CLB) of Level 4 or higher
- No prior culinary experience required

Healthy Living Workshops for Seniors
Our Healthy Living Workshops help seniors build skills and knowledge to support healthy, independent living as they age. We offer monthly cooking classes out of both of our kitchens to empower older adults (55+) through connection, learning, and healthy living. We also offer free education sessions with registered dieticians on an occasional basis.

Cook, Connect & Grow
Youth Culinary Program
Out of our two community teaching kitchens, we provide hands-on, after-school cooking workshops designed to teach youth how to cook healthy, affordable, and culturally relevant meals. This cohort-based weekly program is meant to support youth’s mental wellness and reduce their social isolation, all while building practical skills for life and future employment. Cohorts are six weeks, led by a Culinary Instructor.
