Turn Your Investments into Impact
Give the Gift of Stocks & Securities

You can fight hunger and uplift vulnerable communities in Peel Region, while receiving significant tax benefits, by donating stocks, bonds, mutual funds, or other publicly traded securities to Seva Food Bank. It’s one of the most cost-effective and impactful ways to support our mission.

Donate Securities in 3 Easy Steps

Step 1: Complete the Online Donation Form

Fill out the Securities Donation Form. You’ll get an email confirming your pledge details.
Step 2: Send Your Letter of Direction

Use the Letter of Direction provided by CanadaHelps. Send it to your advisor or investment firm to transfer your shares.
Step 3: Receive Your Tax Receipt

CanadaHelps sells the shares, sends the proceeds to Seva Food Bank, and emails you your charitable tax receipt.

Note: Tax receipts are issued for the fair market value of securities, based on the closing market price on the date the transfer is completed.

Why Donate Securities?

Eliminate Capital Gains Tax

When you donate appreciated securities, you avoid paying capital gains tax—so more of your investment goes directly to the cause.
Maximize Your Tax Savings

Receive a charitable tax receipt for the full market value of your securities on the day of transfer, increasing the value of your donation and potential tax credit.
Flexible Giving Options

Make a gift today, or include securities in your will to provide tax benefits for your estate and maximize the legacy you leave behind.

Your Gift Fuels Real Change

Every donation of securities helps us deliver vital food programs, empower underserved youth, and support seniors across Peel Region. With your support, we’re building a more food-secure, equitable community — one meal at a time.
